Jungle Jim
Pacific Comics Club · 1982–1984 · 35 issues
About the series
In the early 1980s, Pacific Comics Club revived the classic newspaper strip Jungle Jim for a 35-issue series, blending vintage adventure with the independent comics energy of the era. The title follows the globe-trotting exploits of its rugged protagonist through exotic locales and perilous encounters, staying true to the strip’s pulp roots. While creator Alex Raymond originated the character, this run is most associated with writer/artist Alfredo Alcala, whose lush, detailed artwork brought a distinct, shadowy elegance to the jungle tales. A notable artifact of the early direct-market boom, it stands as a passionate, creator-driven homage to a bygone adventure serial.
