About the series

In the mid-1980s, Arédit-Artima brought the grizzled frontier antihero to European readers with a 12-issue series that collected and translated classic American tales. Written primarily by Michael Fleisher, Robert Kanigher, and Russell Carley, with art from Doug Wildey, Fred Ray, and Gérald Forton, these stories captured the brutal, morally complex spirit of the Old West. While not the character's first appearance, this run offered a concentrated dose of Jonah Hex's grim adventures for a French-speaking audience.
