From 1980 to 1981, German publisher Bastei Verlag brought the globe-trotting adventurer John Tornado to life in a 20-issue series, with the bulk of the writing handled by British comics veteran Jim Edgar. The visual identity was shaped by a trio of artists—Frank Bellamy, Ertugrul Edirne, and John Allard—whose dynamic, often cinematic art drove the series' action-forward storytelling.
