About the series
Peyo, the creator of the Smurfs, teamed with writer Ingrid Emond for this short-lived Swedish-language series from the 1970s, published by Coeckelberghs. Spanning just five issues, Johan och Pellevins äventyr chronicles the medieval exploits of the young squire Johan and his loyal friend Pellevin, characters Peyo had previously developed in the pages of Spirou magazine. While the series is a minor footnote in Peyo's vast bibliography, it stands as a distinct, self-contained chapter for these pre-Smurf heroes, offering a concise glimpse into his classic adventure-comedy style.
