About the series
In the early 1970s, the Swedish publisher Illustrationsförlaget released four issues of Johan, Lotta och Jockos äventyr, a comic series collecting Hergé’s beloved adventures of the young heroes Johan and Lotta alongside their mischievous monkey Jocko. Though Hergé is the primary artist, the series also features writing contributions from Allan B. Janzon and Karin Janzon, offering a unique Swedish-language presentation of these early, charmingly whimsical stories. This short-lived run is notable for bringing Hergé’s pre-Tintin work to a Scandinavian audience, preserving the lighthearted spirit of his formative comic collaborations.
