About the series
From 2003 to 2004, Avatar Press brought Joe R. Lansdale's gonzo horror novel The Drive-In to comics in a four-issue miniseries. Co-written by Lansdale and Christopher Golden, with visceral art by Andres Guinaldo, it adapts the cult classic story of a Texas drive-in movie theater that becomes a surreal, blood-soaked prison for its patrons. This adaptation captures the original novel's blend of splatterpunk, dark humor, and pop-culture mayhem, earning its place as a faithful and ferocious translation of Lansdale's twisted vision.
