Jim Cutlass

A gritty, unfinished Western epic from Danish publisher Interpresse, Jim Cutlass launched in 1981 with a single issue that paired the legendary artist Jean Giraud with writers Helen Bahnson and Jean-Michel Charlier. The series follows a Confederate soldier turned adventurer in the post-Civil War American frontier, its stark, atmospheric visuals and morally complex tone marking a distinctive European take on the genre. Though brief, the comic remains a notable collaboration between Giraud—already famed for Blueberry—and Charlier, reuniting two titans of the bande dessinée Western.
