Jeff Hawke

A short-lived but fondly remembered Finnish series from Jalava, Jeff Hawke (1984–1986) adapted the classic British newspaper strip into a compact, three-issue comic format. It brought the thoughtful, scientifically grounded space adventures of the titular UN astronaut to a new audience, capturing the strip's signature blend of diplomacy, alien cultures, and Cold War-era cosmic tension. While the original strip ran for decades, this concise Finnish edition remains a distinctive, localized tribute to one of the most literate sci-fi comics of the 1950s and '60s.
