Java Town

Scott Saavedra’s Java Town (1992–1996, Slave Labor) is a six-issue, creator-owned series that captures the early-90s coffeehouse culture with a surreal, slice-of-life sensibility. Written and drawn entirely by Saavedra, the book follows a rotating cast of baristas, musicians, and drifters through the quirky, deadpan rhythms of a small-town café.
