Over six issues from 1992 to 1994, Adhesive Comics’ Jab brought together writers Aubrey McAuley, DeAnne McAuley, and Wiley Akins with artists Ashley Underwood and Akins for a short-lived but distinctive series. Anchored by the recurring presence of Too Much Coffee Man, the book captured the offbeat, indie-comics energy of the early ’90s alternative scene. A snapshot of a moment when small-press publishers could still make a weird, memorable impression, it remains a curious footnote for fans of the era’s more idiosyncratic characters.
