Iznogoud

In the long-running French comic series Iznogoud, created by Jean Tabary and published by Glénat from 1981 onward, the titular grand vizier schemes endlessly to replace the Caliph—a role he covets with a single-minded, hilarious obsession. Each album features a new, absurd plot by the power-hungry Iznogoud, whose catchphrase "I want to be caliph instead of the caliph!" drives the satirical, slapstick humor.
