Inuyashiki

Hiroya Oku, the creator behind Gantz, brings his signature blend of sci-fi and visceral action to Inuyashiki (2015–2017), a ten-issue series from Kodansha USA. The story follows an elderly, overlooked man who, after a bizarre extraterrestrial encounter, finds himself transformed into a powerful mechanical being—while a troubled teenager undergoes the same change with far darker intentions. Oku writes and illustrates this tense, philosophical drama, translated by Stephen Paul, exploring themes of power, morality, and what it means to be human when your body is no longer your own.
