Indiana Jones

From 1989 onward, Bastei Verlag published this German comic series starring the globe-trotting archaeologist, with the first issue written by David Michelinie and illustrated by Bret Blevins. While the series has continued for decades, its early issues established a pulp-adventure tone that captured the spirit of the films. With additional writing by Hajo F. Breuer, the series expanded Indy's comic-book exploits for European readers.
