Image Firsts: Bitch Planet

Kelly Sue DeConnick and Valentine De Landro launched this uncompromising Image series in 2015, a fierce, feminist sci-fi take on the exploitation-prison genre. Set in a dystopian future where non-compliant women are sent to a brutal off-world penitentiary, the story uses its visceral premise to explore themes of resistance, solidarity, and systemic oppression.
