Illustrierte Klassiker [Classics Illustrated]

Norbert Hethke Verlag revived the Illustrierte Klassiker name in 2001, adapting classic literature into comic form for a new generation. Though the series only lasted two issues, it maintained the educational, story-driven spirit of the original Classics Illustrated line. The project matters as a brief but faithful tribute to the long-running tradition of making great novels accessible through sequential art.
