Il Topolino d'oro
Mondadori · 1970–1974 · 33 issues
About the series
Published by Mondadori from 1970 to 1974, Il Topolino d'oro collected 33 issues of classic Mickey Mouse newspaper strips, primarily from the 1930s and 1940s. The series is most associated with the foundational work of writer-artist Floyd Gottfredson, whose long-running daily adventures defined the character's early personality and world, often in collaboration with writers Ted Osborne and Merrill De Maris and artists Manuel Gonzales and Al Taliaferro. By presenting these formative, serialized stories in a deluxe album format, the series preserved a cornerstone of Disney comics history for an Italian audience.
