About the series
During the early 1940s, Italian publisher Nerbini brought the masked rider to local audiences with Il Solitario della Foresta, an 11-issue comic series adapting the adventures of the Lone Ranger. The series drew on the work of American writer Fran Striker and artist Charles Flanders, key figures behind the character's original newspaper strip. It stands as a notable early example of an Italian licensed translation of a U.S. Western hero, bridging the gap between American pulp storytelling and Italian fumetti readership.
