In the early 1980s, Argentine publisher Ediciones de la Urraca launched Humi, a 28-issue comic series that blended sharp social satire with the surreal, all-ages appeal of its title character—a whimsical, human-like creature navigating a world of bureaucratic absurdity and everyday wonder. Created by the celebrated cartoonist Carlos Trillo and artist Alberto Breccia, the series stood out for its experimental, often wordless storytelling and Breccia's distinctive, textured art. Humi remains a milestone in Latin American comics, showcasing how a deceptively simple character could carry layered critiques of society, media, and human nature.
