About the series
In 1999, DC Comics launched a gritty, four-issue miniseries reimagining the concept of the Human Target, written by Peter Milligan with art by Edvin Biuković. This noir-tinged run follows a professional bodyguard who literally becomes his clients, using plastic surgery and psychological immersion to perfectly impersonate them and draw out their would-be assassins. Milligan and Biuković’s collaboration brought a dark, introspective edge to the premise, exploring identity and sacrifice in a way that defined the character for a new era.
