About the series
From 1937 to 1940, Opera Mundi published Hop-là !, a 132-issue French comic anthology that brought together American newspaper strip giants and local talent. The series is most notable for featuring the work of E. C. Segar, whose Popeye strips anchored the book, alongside Edgar Rice Burroughs' adventure serials and the distinctive art of French cartoonist Jacques Souriau. A key showcase of pre-war European comics publishing, Hop-là ! offered readers a lively mix of imported and homegrown thrills.
