From 2013, Boom! Studios published this four-issue miniseries by writer Bryce Carlson and artist Vanesa R. Del Rey. A gritty crime saga set in 1960s Los Angeles, it follows a veteran mob enforcer whose life is upended when a routine job goes violently wrong, forcing him to confront the shifting loyalties of the underworld. Del Rey’s moody, expressive art and Carlson’s taut storytelling earned the series a cult following for its fresh take on the classic noir hitman tale.
