About the series
In the late 1970s, Finland's Otava publisher brought together a team of French and Spanish creators—including writers André Bérélowitch, Jean Ollivier, and Pierre Castex, and artists Enric Sió and Jaime Marzal-Canós—for Historian suuret seikkailut, a seven-issue comic series that adapted great historical adventures. Each issue plunged readers into a different epic from world history, blending educational storytelling with vivid, European-style illustration. Though short-lived, the series stands as a distinctive Nordic-European collaboration that brought sweeping historical narratives to Finnish comics.
