Hinterhof

Set in a Berlin backyard, Hinterhof (2022–present, avant-verlag) is a quiet, observational comic by writer Anna Rakhmanko and artist Mikkel Sommer, with contributions from Katharina Erben. The series captures the small, interwoven lives of a courtyard's residents through Sommer's expressive, moody linework. A single-issue meditation on urban community and fleeting moments, it brings a European slice-of-life sensibility to the German independent comics scene.
