Luke Pearson's Hildafolk launched in 2010 with Nobrow, introducing the blue-haired, endlessly curious Hilda to a world where the mundane and the magical coexist in the wilds of a Scandinavian-inspired landscape. This debut issue, written and drawn entirely by Pearson, established the gentle, adventurous tone and lush, folkloric art that would define the series. It matters as the quiet, charming beginning of a beloved all-ages saga that celebrates exploration, empathy, and the wonder of nature.
