About the series

In the early 2010s, Editora JBC brought the acclaimed manga Hikaru no Go to Brazilian readers in a 23-issue run. This series follows a young boy whose life is transformed after he discovers a Go board haunted by the ghost of a master player from the Heian era. A compelling blend of supernatural intrigue and intense competitive strategy, it is most closely associated with the creative trio of Yumi Hotta (story), Takeshi Obata (art), and Yukari Umezawa (supervision). Hikaru no Go is celebrated for popularizing the ancient board game Go among a new generation, making it a landmark series in the sports manga genre.
