About the series
In 2011 and 2012, Yen Press released a pair of full-color omnibus editions collecting the first two story arcs of Highschool of the Dead, the ultra-violent survival-horror manga by writer Daisuke Sato and artist Shouji Sato. These oversized, hardcover volumes—printed in English for the first time—present the series' signature blend of zombie apocalypse action, fan service, and high-octane melodrama in a lush, painted color format that amplifies the kinetic energy of the original black-and-white artwork. Though the run was brief, it stands as a distinctive, deluxe way to experience the manga's most iconic early chapters.
