Herbie

From 1990 to 1991, A-Plus Comics revived the delightfully odd adventures of Herbie Popnecker, the chubby, lollipop-loving boy with reality-bending powers. This six-issue series, most frequently written by Shane O'Shea and Richard Hughes, was brought to life by the singular, clean-lined art of Ogden Whitney. A charmingly surreal and affectionate continuation of the character's 1960s heyday, it matters as a late-career showcase for Whitney's distinctive, deadpan visual storytelling.
