Hellraiser

In 1990 and 1991, Comics USA published a three-issue Hellraiser series that translated Clive Barker’s nightmarish Cenobite mythology into stark, painted panels. Writer Erik Saltzgaber, joined by artists John Bolton and Scott Hampton, delivered a visually lush and unsettling expansion of the Lament Configuration’s horrors. This short run remains a key early adaptation of the franchise, capturing the grotesque elegance of Barker’s vision before the comics landscape shifted.
