Heathen

From 2017 to 2020, Vault Comics published Heathen, a 12-issue fantasy series created and primarily written by Natasha Alterici, who also handled much of the art alongside Tess Fowler. The story follows a young Viking woman on a quest to break a curse, exploring themes of identity, faith, and rebellion against oppressive systems. With its lush, atmospheric visuals and a protagonist who defies both mythological and societal expectations, Heathen stands as a distinctive, queer-centric take on Norse legend that resonated for its heartfelt, unapologetic storytelling.
