Hacky der Specht

A short-lived German comic series from Press & Publicity, Hacky der Specht ran for just 11 issues in the mid-1950s. Primarily drawn by Bill Weaver and John Carey, the series centered on the adventures of its titular woodpecker character. Though brief, it represents a modest but charming entry in the European funny-animal comics tradition of the era.
