Guy Gardner: Warrior Annual

DC · 1995–1996 · 2 issues
About the series

In the mid-90s, DC Comics gave the brash, bowl-cutted Green Lantern Guy Gardner his own spotlight in this two-issue annual series, Guy Gardner: Warrior. Written primarily by Beau Smith and Flint Henry, with art from Dave Brewer and Henry, the series leaned into the character's rough-and-tumble, bar-brawling persona. It pitted Guy and his supporting cast—including his brother Mace, the villainous Dementor, and his on-again, off-again love Ice—against threats that required more fists than light constructs. A short-lived but punchy extension of the Warrior era, it captures a moment when Guy Gardner was reinventing himself as a street-level hero with a cosmic past.
