About the series
From 2006 onward, Arcana published Grunts, a three-issue series that reimagines the classic war comic through a supernatural lens. Written by Shannon Eric Denton and Keith Giffen, with art by Matt Jacobs, the story follows a squad of soldiers who discover their battlefield is far stranger than it seems. A gritty, darkly humorous take on military horror, it stands out for blending gritty combat with eerie, otherworldly twists.
