Grimsborken

In 2002, Norwegian publisher Jippi Forlag launched Grimsborken, a single-issue comic that adapts material from the classic folklorists Asbjørnsen og Moe into a visual narrative. The project is defined by the work of Bjørn Ousland, who both writes and illustrates the tale, bringing a contemporary graphic sensibility to these well-known stories. As a standalone volume, it stands as a notable example of Norwegian folk tales being translated into the comics medium.
