Gli Scorpioni del deserto

In the late 1980s, Hugo Pratt returned to the desert with Gli Scorpioni del deserto, a two-issue series published by Rizzoli Libri. Co-plotted and co-illustrated with Guido Fuga, this work expands Pratt’s signature blend of historical adventure and humanist storytelling, following a motley crew of soldiers and drifters in the North African theater of World War II. Though brief, the series showcases Pratt’s mature, ink-washed artistry and his fascination with moral ambiguity in the chaos of war. It stands as a lesser-known but essential companion to his epic Corto Maltese sagas.
