About the series
Walter Gibson, the prolific writer behind The Shadow, brought his pulp sensibilities to this short-lived Street & Smith series. Ghost Breakers, running for just two issues starting in 1948, paired Gibson with artist Bob Powell for a supernatural crime-fighting premise. Though brief, it stands as a curious artifact of the post-war shift from radio-inspired heroes to occult-tinged adventure comics.
