Genocyber

About the series
In the mid-1990s, Viz Media brought the cyberpunk horror of Genocyber to American comics, adapting the Japanese OVA into a five-issue miniseries. Scripted primarily by James D. Hudnall, with contributions from Tony Takezaki and Toshifumi Yoshida, the series pairs visceral, body-horror artwork from Takezaki and Wayne Truman with a grim tale of psychic warfare and military conspiracy. Though short-lived, it stands as a notable example of Viz's early push to translate mature, dystopian anime into the Western comic format.
