Gen - Pojken från Hiroshima

In 1985, Swedish publisher Alvglans released the first and only issue of Gen - Pojken från Hiroshima, a Swedish translation of Keiji Nakazawa’s landmark autobiographical manga Barefoot Gen. Nakazawa, who survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima as a child, wrote and drew this stark, powerful series that chronicles the aftermath of the bombing through the eyes of a young boy. Though the Swedish run was brief—a single issue—it introduced Scandinavian readers to a work that remains a crucial, unflinching testament to the human cost of nuclear war.
