About the series
In the early 1990s, Fantagraphics published Gaby and the Goat, a short-lived but quietly influential series of just three issues. Created by artist and writer Michael Kupperman, the comic follows the surreal, deadpan adventures of a young girl and her anthropomorphic goat companion, blending absurdist humor with a minimalist, woodcut-inspired art style. Though brief, the series stands as an early showcase of Kupperman's distinctive voice, foreshadowing the offbeat sensibility he would later bring to Snake 'n' Bacon and Tales Designed to Thrizzle.
