Futura

Published by French publisher Editions Lug from 1972 to 1975, Futura ran for 33 issues as a science-fiction anthology series. The title was most frequently written by Claude-Jacques Legrand and featured art from a rotating team including Annibale Casabianca, Edmond Fernández Ripoll, and Yves Chantereau. It introduced readers to a roster of recurring characters such as the telepath Jaleb, Varna Zelton, Jason Spell, and Khanor, while also occasionally hosting Western heroes Tex Willer and Zembla. The series stands as a distinctive snapshot of Lug's eclectic, genre-crossing approach to European comics during the early 1970s.
