Coconino Press’s Fumetti nei Musei (2018–present) is an ongoing series that pairs contemporary Italian cartoonists with major museums, inviting each creator to produce a short comic inspired by a specific artwork or collection. Spanning 51 issues and counting, the project has featured a rotating roster of acclaimed talents like Manuele Fior, Igort, and Gipi, who bring their distinct visual voices to works from institutions such as the Uffizi and the Museo di Capodimonte. By blending high art with the narrative freedom of comics, the series offers a fresh, accessible entry point into museum treasures, making it a vital bridge between fine art and sequential storytelling.
