A single-issue comic from Lev Gleason’s early 1940s line, Friday was written and drawn by Walter Galli. The series takes its name from its hero, a young man who, after his father is murdered, vows to fight crime. Galli’s work here is a compact, self-contained example of the costumed-avenger trend that was then just beginning to sweep the newsstands.
