About the series
Dell Comics’ Frankenstein (1963–1966) reimagines Mary Shelley’s monster not as a shambling brute but as a misunderstood, intelligent being who seeks peace in a hostile world. Across four issues, writers D. J. Arneson and Don Segall, alongside artists Tony Tallarico, Bill Fraccio, and Bob Jenney, paired the creature with the human adventurer Frank Stone for eerie, action-driven tales. Though short-lived, this series stands out for its sympathetic take on the monster during the Silver Age, offering a thoughtful counterpoint to the horror-tinged comics of its era.
