Franka

In the early 1980s, Carlsen/if in Sweden published four issues of Franka, a Dutch comic series created and helmed by Henk Kuijpers, who both wrote and drew the series. Co-written by Elisabet Frisk, the series follows the adventures of its resourceful and stylish young female protagonist. Though brief, this Swedish edition introduced Kuijpers’s celebrated character to a new audience, marking a notable chapter in the international reach of European adventure comics.
