Flare

Flare burned bright for three issues from Heroic Publishing in 1988–1989, a short-lived but punchy solo title spun from the publisher's Champions universe. Writers Dennis Mallonee and David Berge, with artists Tim Burgard and Dell Barras, crafted the adventures of a young, flame-wielding heroine navigating the challenges of heroism and identity. Though brief, the series helped anchor Heroic's line of superhero comics during the late-'80s boom.
