Fischmarkt

In the early 1990s, German publisher Bulu-Katacomix launched Fischmarkt, a short-lived comic series of just two issues, anchored by the distinct, moody artwork of Schwarwel. Set against a gritty urban backdrop, the series explores the underbelly of city life with a raw, expressionistic style that would become a hallmark of its creator’s later work. Though brief, Fischmarkt remains a notable artifact of the alternative German comics scene.
