In the mid-1990s, James Robinson and a team of artists including Cully Hamner and Keith Conroy brought a gritty, noir-tinged edge to Malibu Comics with Firearm. This 19-issue series followed a mysterious, chain-smoking vigilante operating in the seedy underbelly of a fictional city, blending hard-boiled detective storytelling with the heightened action of the era's superhero comics. Though short-lived, it stands as a cult favorite for its moody atmosphere and Robinson's early, assured scripting before his acclaimed runs on Starman and other titles.
