Felix the Cat

From 1953 into the modern era, Paladin Press’s Felix the Cat comic series kept the silent-era cartoon star in black-and-white mischief across nine issues. Most often penned and drawn by original animator Otto Messmer alongside Joe Oriolo, these comics preserved Felix’s classic, surreal humor and his magical bag of tricks for a new generation of readers. While short-lived, the series is a key artifact of Felix’s mid-century resurgence, bridging his silent-film roots with the burgeoning comic-book market.
