Favorietenreeks

Published by Vanderhout from 1967 to 1968, Favorietenreeks was a 15-issue Dutch comic series that gathered lighthearted adventure stories for young readers. The series is most associated with the husband-and-wife team of Fred and Liliane Funcken, who both wrote and illustrated many of its entries alongside fellow artist Berck and writer Yves Duval. Its recurring characters included the boy hero Hansje, the comedic Italian duo Prosciutto and Spaghetti, and the jungle-raised Toenga. Though short-lived, the series captured a charming, eclectic era of European children's comics.
