About the series
In this 1990s Kitchen Sink Press miniseries, writer and artist James Romberger explores a stark, semi-autobiographical story of a struggling single father raising his young son in a gritty Lower East Side Manhattan. The four-issue run, published from 1995 to 1996, is a raw, intimate portrait of urban poverty, addiction, and the fierce bond between parent and child. Romberger's scratchy, expressive linework and unflinching narrative earned the series a place as a notable example of autobiographical comics from the alternative press era.
