A 26-issue revival of the classic adaptation series, Famous Classics Illustrated (1971–1972) from G. Miranda & Sons brought literary staples like The War of the Worlds and The Man in the Iron Mask to a new generation of comic readers. This short-lived run maintained the educational mission of its predecessor, offering accessible, illustrated versions of public-domain novels and stories. While less famous than the original series, it represents a notable late-era attempt to keep the concept of literary comics alive in the early 1970s.
